Dear friends, Do you have this problem in your corridor. We have sb. stealing our food from fridge for long time, twice a week. We contact with SSSB, they can do nothing about this.
It is so bad that we live their room and pay the rent and they pay no attention to this at all. How do you think of this and what is the good way to stop the stealing?
Damned thief, I would like to beat it seriously if I catch it.

Damn, that's a major bummer. Getting your food stolen is almost as bad as having your beer stolen! Is it just your own food or is it every ones? And you said its twice a week? Are the thefts noted at regular intervals or are they randomly dispersed over the week? If they are, you may consider guard duty Wink (unauthorized video surveillance is illegal).

If you are considering this and the guard in question sees the crime being committed there are two options, depending on the value of the stolen goods at the time of the crime:

1. The value of the goods exceeds 800kr: The perpetrator has committed an offense punishable by imprisonment, and may be arrested by anyone as long he/she is caught "red handed". (According to Swedish law (Rättegångsbalken ( RB 24:7 )))

2. The value of the goods is less than 800kr: The perpetrator has committed a misdemeanor and may not be arrested by anyone but the police (The guard may call the police).

My guess is that you have a problem with sleepwalkers, or drunk room/corridor mates coming home late at night having forgot to stock up on essentials.

I think the best way to find the thief is to make a delicious meal
and then put cyanide in the meal.

maybe you can ask sssb to change the code to your corridor

then at least you have some idea of who is able to enter or not.

I think that's a good start.

Yeah. And in order to do this, I think you need a list of signatures from the people you are sharing kitchen with, that verifies they all know the new code to be.

well i guess if you change the code even then its useless because the thief in 90% cases is living in your corridor. i guess the best thing should be that they should have locks on th fridge and freezers and those ppl who are using it should have the key,
