Be carfully.

It looks like somene is Using this page for getting money!!! There are two kinds of problems: "someone" is offering housing at a very low price, ok, BUT this "someone" is sending almost exactly the same mails (only the address of the house is changing) from different emails, asking to call a number in the UK... this is very suspicious, isn't it ? please let's warn people not to trust that "someone" and not to call the number, and of course not to give any money !

The second one is sending mails from stina nilsson and brenda berry, about a flat. They want to get money send by western union. BUT they are tricking and they dont have any flat to rent. They just take the money and then disepears.

If you have a similar story, please send a mail to Juergen!!!

Beware!
If someone from newcastle offer you a big flat and wants the money via western union don't accept!!!
This person wants to send you the keys of the flat via DHL because lives in England!! THINK HARD: WHO would like to send the keys of his flat to someone unknown???
The names used from this person are Brenda Berry, Stina Nilsson, Ellen Nohle... but also male names...
Some of the photos as clearly taken from hotels' websites, or some times don't correspond to the descriptions.

If you pay a flat via bank account it's more SAFER because you are sure that the account belongs to a REAL person

Good luck to everyone who is searching an accomodation like me!

Dear Juergen,

I have talked someone called Gabriel about a flat in Stockholm. But he/she send me this e-mail which was very suspicious!!!! I am sending you this e-mail below:

 Hello
Thanks for your mail and for the interest you and your boyfriend had in my two bedroom apartment,i will be glad if i can seal the deal of the apartment with you,i mean if you can rent the apartment.
Conncerning what is convincing, you since yourself and with boyfriend will need the double bedroom then you wil pay me 600euro for a month rent and 700euro for the deposit,so i think it will be easy for you to share the money between yourselfs (350+350 Euros deposit and 300Euros+300 Euros rent).
i was staying in Conpengen, but now i was transfered to head my company's branch in London, and i have everything set for me there ,so i need someone to take care of this in Copenhagen till i can back and it will takes me up to one and half years before i can be thinking of coming back to copenhagen.

so if you are really interested in this offer, you will need to book for the reservation of the apartment  by signing the rental agreement with me and make the payment to secure the place,i will need to have your details to fill in the contract and you will read it to make sure you are ok with it or not before you will be signing it.so to get the place reserved so that i can post the keys to you by DHL courier service you will have to sign a rental agreement with me..so you will have to transfer the payment to me herein the UK via western union money transfer, but before the payment you and i will will have to sign a rental agreement so i will need the details bellow for the preparation of the rental agreement.
your name........
your date of birth...
your move in date
your move out date...
your passport id number...
your address to post the keys after the contract and the payment.....
So i will be waiting to read from you soon with the information

Isn't it suspicious?Huh I am freshly accepted as a PhD student in Stockholm University, me and my boyfriend are searching for a flat in Stockholm. If you can help us to find a place to stay, we'll appreciate that. Thank you.

I would never ever send money by western Union!!! Ask for a real bank account and pay the fee, but never send money by western union...

That´s my advice,

/Juergen

I had problems with a girl called Nioosha, she wanted me to keep a flat for her from the middle of december and I lost the oportunity to rent it when the time cae she did not answwer her mobil or her e-mail. She is a joke. Do not believe in her anymore.

Thats why we should ask for a penny to keep the room and not need to pay double rent as I have to now.

I had the same experience of a girl name May Ashley, mashley46@gmail.com. She insist on sending me her keys and transfer of full rental+2 months to her in UK. She won't accept my colleague's offer to deliver the money to her in person at all.

Just beware.

Hi guys:

I also got these very strange emails from somebody called Ashley May, email address mayashley94@ymail.com. I read about the scammers here in the forum and I really believe this is one of them, check it out:

"I can understand what your stand is ..So i can agree to come back to Stockholm but Before i can come i must see at least that the money for the rent of is available..Right now i am in Africa but i have the keys with me..I am here for 4 weeks but if you can show a commitment  i can come

So here is how we would have to go about it,you will have to look for any western union office close and get the whole month rent and deposit transfered using your friend's name as the receiver and my address in Nigeria as destination so you can be sure that your money is safe then you show a proof of the payment like a scanned copy of the receipt or the details on it so that i can check with western union if the money is truly available with them and the amount is correct then i will book my ticket and meet with you and then you can now go back to western union office to change the receiver name to my name so that i can pick up the money.. I hope you will be able to proceed with the Suggestion  giving to you  above in other for us to proceed fast on time..
Here is how the receipt would look like

 Senders name   mariella
 Receiver name   Your friends name
Address          111 Palm Groove street Victoria Island Lagos Nigeria

City is Victoria Island and state is Lagos"

This is the response after I told her I would ask a friend of mine to go and meet her and check the apartment.

Thanks a lot for your published reports on scammers, I´ll definitely keep looking for room somewhere else, be careful, bye bye

Mariella

This scam is now incredibly common. Some student accommodation websites are 50% fake adverts. Note that the phone numbers starting +44 70 are NOT necessarily in the UK. They are free redirects and they are usually redirecting to scammers in Nigeria. For sample emails and lists of scammer aliases, check  http://www.ammonet.com/ammonet-com/ammonet-ecommerce-scams-eng.htm

Hey there,
I also got some really weird offers. All of them wanted me to send money through Western Union. Furthermore they all claimed they can´t show me the flat because they recently moved to the UK. (names/email: rossana bonsi, linus nilson, deutschmensch101@...)
So, be aware and stay suspicious!
